TAKs verden is a Norwegian travel operator that runs guided international tours across five continents. Their catalogue of trips kept growing, and so did their customer base. They needed a digital platform to match the quality, depth, and sense of discovery of the tours they offer.

No branding, no platform

TAKs verden had no real branding, no logo, and no proper digital platform to build on. They had tried off-the-shelf tools like WordPress, but soon hit the limits: it could not handle multi-day trips, nested destinations, or the level of custom work they needed.

They needed a long-term partner who could build something custom, credible, and ready to grow with them. Flyingcode was the right fit. We build the platform step by step, adding new features and modules as the company grows, always using modern tech to give TAKs verden an edge.

The vision

The vision was clear: a platform where visitors could explore places on an interactive world map, read detailed day-by-day plans, and send booking enquiries — all in an experience that matched the premium feel of the tours.

Beyond the public site, TAKs verden needed a solid admin dashboard so their team could run every part of the business without touching code — from creating tours and managing hotel deals to sending newsletters and making branded PDF tour programmes.

Full branding included

The work went well beyond code. We also built the full brand for TAKs verden — logo, colours, fonts, and overall look. The brand was made to feel like premium travel and global discovery, and it stays consistent from the website to PDF tour programmes, newsletters, and social posts.

The technical side was just as big: build a full-stack platform that could handle layered data — continents, countries, destinations, tours, and plans — while keeping the admin simple enough for a small team to run with ease.

Built on a modern full-stack foundation

We built the platform on a modern React framework, with server-side rendering for fast first loads and client components for rich, interactive pages. The whole codebase is fully typed, which keeps it reliable, clear, and easy to maintain as it grows.

Data architecture

The data layer models 13 linked collections — tours and plans, countries, hotels, newsletter subscribers, and site settings. The schema fits the layered nature of travel data: continents hold countries, countries hold destinations, and tours tie all three together with day-by-day plans.

Media & file management

For media, we added cloud storage with secure uploads. The admin dashboard has a full media browser with folders, image previews, and usage tracking to spot unused files — giving the team full control over a rich, well-managed library.

AI-powered content generation

One of the platform's most advanced features is its AI content system. We built endpoints that use large language models to write full country travel guides, SEO metadata, marketing taglines, image captions, and PDF intros — cutting the time to fill new destinations without losing depth or quality.

Frontend & design system

The frontend uses a utility-first CSS framework with accessible components and smooth animations, for a polished, responsive feel on every device. A rich text editor powers content editing across the admin dashboard.

Automated PDF generation

PDF tour programmes are built server-side, with QR codes that link back to the live tour page. Incremental page updates keep the public site fast while still showing content changes within minutes.

A platform that puts discovery first

The public site opens with an interactive world map where visitors can explore continents, countries, and single destinations. Each country page has AI-written travel guides covering the practical details — visas, currency, local languages, weather, health and safety, and local customs — laid out in a way that feels useful and refined.

Rich tour experiences

Tour pages show rich, day-by-day plans with activities from departures and day trips to wellness treatments and optional extras, each with its own price. Every day links to hotel details, shows weather, and uses high-quality images cropped to fit each place they appear.

A dashboard for everything

Behind the scenes, the admin dashboard has more than 15 modules across content, marketing, and system sections. Tour management alone includes a day-by-day plan builder, flexible pricing for standard and seasonal rates, what's-included and what's-not lists, flight route tracking, and guide assignment.

Branded PDF programs

PDF tour programmes are built server-side with TAKs verden's branding throughout — logo, colours, and fonts that match the identity we created. The system turns full plans, with embedded images, QR codes, and Norwegian dates, into polished documents the team can share or hand out in person.
